Zoom Meditation & Discussion Meetings
for Students and Graduates

Important!
Check the time for your region by clicking on the listed time

Joining a regular meditation group is a great way to maintain or deepen your meditation practice, whether you are just learning or are a long-term meditator. There are "regulars" for any given meeting time, but any student or graduate who comes is welcome. By attending a regular live meeting you will be part of a vibrant and active community of fellow students and graduates.

In order to participate in one of the monthly or weekly zoom meetings, you will need to be a member of the Palouse Mindfulness Community. As a precaution against zoom- bombers, the zoom link is not given here. Only graduates and students who are members of the Palouse Mindfulness Community are given the zoom link. Anyone graduating from the Palouse Mindfulness course is automatically a member of the community and students may join by following the instructions given in Joining the Palouse Mindfulness Community.

Our Zoom hosts are participant leaders who manage and organize the groups but are not acting as counselors or providing medical advice or therapy of any type. If you are needing medical or mental health guidance, please consult with a licensed medical or psychotherapeutic professional (see Health Considerations).

Guidelines for sharing in meetings
[ simple, but important]

  • Share from your own experience
    - don’t try to “fix” or offer unsolicited advice.
  • Give everyone the opportunity to speak
    - be mindful of how long you talk.
  • Allow a moment of silence (e.g., a breath or two) between speakers. This shows respect and allows time to digest what has just been shared.
  • Everything shared is confidential
    - what happens in “zoom” stays in “zoom”.
If you are currently taking the Palouse Mindfulness course, any of the meetings below can substitute for one (but only one) of the six weekly formal practices assigned for any given "week". If none of the times for the meetings below work for you, there are dozens of Other Zoom Meditations (which can also substitute for one of the six weekly practices).

Community does not necessarily mean living face-to-face with others; rather, it means never losing the awareness that we are connected to each other.
     - Parker Palmer

You are whole and also part of larger and larger circles of wholeness you may not even know about.

You are never alone.
And you already belong.
You belong to humanity.
You belong to life.
You belong to this moment, this breath.
     - Jon Kabat-Zinn

When all that we understand of self and world comes together in the center place called heart, we are more likely to find the courage to act humanely on what we know.
     - Parker Palmer

In Louisville, at the corner of Fourth and Walnut, in the center of the shopping district, I was suddenly overwhelmed by the realization that I loved all those people . . . even though we were total strangers. It was like waking from a dream of separateness.
     - Thomas Merton

You are not a drop in the ocean,
You are the entire ocean in a drop.
     - Rumi

We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.
     - Martin Luther King

I would say that there exist a thousand unbreakable links between each of us and everything else, and that our dignity and our changes are one. The farthest star and the mud at our feet are family; and there is no decency or sense in honoring one thing, or a few things, and then closing the list. The pine tree, the leopard, the Platte River, and ourselves – we are at risk together, or we are on our way to a sustainable world together. We are each other’s destiny.
