Other Zoom Meditations

If none of the times from the Zoom Meditation & Discussion Meetings work for you, any of the meetings below, including the "Teacher talks", can substitute for one (but only one) of the six weekly formal practices assigned for any given "week". All these meetings are open to anyone and most are free.

"Meditate Together" Meditation and Discussion - Mindful Leader

Mindful Leader created Meditate Together as a response to the pandemic and it has been so popular that they are continuing their sessions providing live & online meditation and reflection groups, one beginning every hour of every weekday, 24 hours a day. These are 30-minute sessions including a 15-minute meditation and 15-minute discussion/reflection.

"Worldwide Online Sit" - East Coast Mindfulness

The "Worldwide Online Sit" is a weekly gathering offered free of charge to all who have completed an MBSR or MBCT course, or who already have an established mindfulness practice. Over the course of a 30-minute session, a teaching is offered, followed by meditation (the "sit," silent or guided) and optional group sharing.

Global Online Meditation Community - UMass Memorial

[ From UMass ] : "The Center for Mindfulness Online Community Meditation is offered at no charge, but you will need to register. These sessions have been established to support worldwide graduates of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programs and those with an interest in mindfulness meditation. Join us for a guided meditation, reflection, and discussion."

Drop-in Meditations - Insight Meditation Community of Washington, DC (IMCW)

This is the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, DC (IMCW) Calendar. Some of the drop-in meditations are listed as "Classes", but most include a meditation and discussion and are open to anyone. Some of these may revert back to in-person meetings, but for now almost all of them are on-line via zoom.

MSC Circles of Practice - Center for Mindful Self-Compassion

[ From MSC ] : "These 45-minute sessions will be led by senior MSC teachers and be comprised of a short opening talk, a guided meditation of about 20-25 minutes (with "light" guidance) and then a time at the end for unmuting for brief comments and time to wave goodbye." NOTE: Registration is for each session separately and should be done beforehand as number of participants is limited.

Meditation and Talk - Tara Brach

Tara Brach’s weekly Wednesday night talk has always been free and available by video, but she is now live-streaming it and all are welcome. The live-stream includes the 30-minute meditation Tara guides which precedes her hour-long talk. The link above takes you to a calendar that gives the times and links for joining Tara’s live Wednesday night meetings, as well as other free live-streamed offerings. Tara’s talks are the ones listed as “7:30pm (U.S. Eastern) Drop-in Class LIVESTREAMED, Bethesda".

Wednesday Meditations - Dr. Rick Hanson

"Awakening Joy" Meditation & Talk - James Baraz

James teaches in Berkeley, California, and is the author of "Awakening Joy" and creator of the "Awakening Joy" course. He is also a co-founding teacher of Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California, and is a Guiding Teacher for One Earth Sangha, a website devoted to expressing a Buddhist response to Climate Change.
