I first began to learning and practicing mindfulness meditation as a way to help others. As a counsellor and a trainer specialized in stress management, I kept hearing how MBSR program can help people in many ways. As I travelled around the Bay Area in 2017, I found Palouse by chance, began to study mindfulness and have practiced ever since then. I appreciate this encounter very much, for it turns out I was the one who benefited the most. I had been going through a rough time and suffered from insomnia for several years. It helped me to be at the present no matter how difficult the situation was and to reduce judgmental thinking by paying attention to moment-to-moment thoughts. Eventually, I walked out of this darkest moment of my life.

In 2024, I attended a live MBSR program online. Although we all came from different parts of the world, by practicing together, being with a group of people while being deeply relaxed and silent, I felt connected to myself and people in a way I never imagined. I would like to share such experience with others, especially those who also speak Chinese.

I have always believed that meditation is not only a way to have a better life for yourself, but also a way to better connect with the outside world. I Look forward to seeing you at my weekly zoom meeting!

我刚开始学习并且练习正念冥想的时候,其实是为了帮助别人。我是一名心理咨询师和培训师,压力管理是我的主要研究方向,在我的专业领域里面,我常常听说MBSR能够在很多方面帮助别人。2017年,我在美国湾区旅游的时候,机缘巧合之下认识了Palouse冥想,于是开始了正念的学习,并一直坚持练习至今。我非常感激这一次遇见,因为我发现,我才是在这个过程中受惠最多的人。当时,我正在经历着人生的低谷,在那几年里面,我常常失眠。通过练习正念冥想,我学会了无论境遇有多么糟糕,我都能活在当下;通过关注头脑中那些一闪而过的念头,我学会了从充满批判的思想中解脱出来。最终,我走出了这个人生中的黑暗时期。

2024年,我参加了一次线上的MBSR学习。尽管同学们都是来自世界上的不同地方,但通过一起练习,以一种深度放松并且静默的方式跟一群人在一起,我感受到了一种前所未有的连接感,既是跟自己的内在,也是跟外在的人群。我非常希望可以把这种经验带给更多人,尤其是散布在世界各地的华语人群。

我一直相信,练习冥想并不仅仅是为了让我们独善其身,更是为了让我们可以更好地与外在世界紧密相连。衷心希望可以在每周的线上会议中与你见面!
