Patricia Sile

Patricia hosts a weekly Spanish-language zoom meeting (see Reuniones en Zoom).

My attitude of “open curiosity” has accompanied me all my life. Since I was a child I have lived constantly examining this world, because I noticed and identified injustice, things and people that are unfair, incorrect, manipulative... At 20 years old I was already studying “karmic astrology” to try to find some answer that religion did not give me. My fascination with meditation began at that time, when I was invited to read a book on Metaphysics. I have practiced various types of meditation. A sophrologist taught us how to meditate using glasses with lights and sounds. I had just finished my technology degree and it seemed interesting to merge two subjects that I liked. At that time I had already checked out all the psychology books from my university library. Always seeking to understand the meaning of life in this world...

In 2018 something happened that changed my perspective on life. In 2020, researching about it, I found the Palouse website and also took a coaching course related to Mindfulness. Thanks to Dave I was able to experience some of the benefits this practice offers. After finishing the MBSR Mindfulness course I decided to spread the benefits.

In my zoom group, we focus more on week 5 “Dealing with difficult emotions or physical pain” & Scientific Research. We talk about How to use Mindfulness MBSR to calm stress and anxiety, especially in the face of medical treatment. I also share scientific research on Mindfulness. Since 2023 I have been carrying out Research in Neurotechnology & Mindfulness, and in 2024 I have started scientific research together with oncology doctors.

He practicado varios tipos de meditación.

Community does not necessarily mean living face-to-face with others; rather, it means never losing the awareness that we are connected to each other.
     - Parker Palmer

You are whole and also part of larger and larger circles of wholeness you may not even know about.

You are never alone.
And you already belong.
You belong to humanity.
You belong to life.
You belong to this moment, this breath.
     - Jon Kabat-Zinn

When all that we understand of self and world comes together in the center place called heart, we are more likely to find the courage to act humanely on what we know.
     - Parker Palmer

In Louisville, at the corner of Fourth and Walnut, in the center of the shopping district, I was suddenly overwhelmed by the realization that I loved all those people . . . even though we were total strangers. It was like waking from a dream of separateness.
     - Thomas Merton

You are not a drop in the ocean,
You are the entire ocean in a drop.
     - Rumi

We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.
     - Martin Luther King

I would say that there exist a thousand unbreakable links between each of us and everything else, and that our dignity and our changes are one. The farthest star and the mud at our feet are family; and there is no decency or sense in honoring one thing, or a few things, and then closing the list. The pine tree, the leopard, the Platte River, and ourselves – we are at risk together, or we are on our way to a sustainable world together. We are each other’s destiny.
