Not too long ago I came across the notion of MBSR. Coming from a science background, I always search for scientific evidence even in self development methods which I am very interested in.

MBSR caught my attention as a scientifically accepted way of reducing stress, which is a very common issue in our "modern" Western society. Then I looked for courses that teach MBSR and found a few, but in addition to being scarce, the courses were also somewhat expensive. In search for a good course in the internet, I came across Palouse Mindfulness. First it wasn't apparent that it was free and online, but when I dug in, I was nicely surprised that it indeed was. So I started to study the course to see if it really helps. At the end of the second week of the course, I liked the course so much as a whole (i.e. the content, the approach and the additional materials), I thought of translating the course to Turkish, my native language.

After a while I also saw an announcement in a Palouse Mindfulness newsletter, that help is needed to support the team. Actually it was a PS at the end of the announcement. photo of PS that Ali saw. In summary, it says: If you have an IT background and/or are familiar with html, you may be able to help. "Wow! That's me!", I thought. I jumped right in and responded that I was willing to help and I also suggested to help translate the course to Turkish. After a few e-mails and a couple of zoom talks, my Palouse Mindfulness journey started. Shortly after, I noticed something wonderful: It was some sort of IKIGAI happening to me, because I was willing to do it, could to do it using my knowledge and experience and also my work would extend the value of an already very valuable course. And after almost a year of hard but very enthusiastic and fulfilling volunteer work, now I am here with all these wonderful people in this community.

I am so grateful to Dave, the creator of this great site, who made it possible for me and everybody else in the community.
